Millennials are changing their spending habits lately from food to travels and beach wedding.

Independent think tank Global Consumer Trends said people aged 30 and above dream of a fantastic beach wedding.

One wedding venue it mentioned was Balesin, a posh island thrice the size of BGC. The wedding of Heart Evangelista and politician Chiz Escudero in February 15, 2015 attracted other high profile weddings in the posh island resort.

Margarito Teves, independent director of San Miguel Corp. and member of the resort, said there are many reasons why Balesin is the preferred wedding destination.

“The white sand, good food from different world class restaurants (and) facilities (are) excellent.”

Since the Heart-Chiz wedding, many other prominent personalities, like Christine Reyes and Patti Grandidge, tied the knot in Balesin.

The members-only resort, located in the town of Polilio in Quezon, first captured the public’s interest almost a decade ago because of its tranquility and very private location. One can reach the island via 20-minute chartered flight from its hangar in Parañaque straight to its airstrip which is registered at the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines. Sources in different fields said the island’s unique character, organic food, natural white sand beaches that stretch several kilometers are hard to find in other resorts.

“(It has) the best crabs in the world which are hand-fed by locals, the best designed villas, water horses you can ride, best spa and wellness center,” said a source in the real estate industry.
