UNWTO officials tour Balesin

Officials of the Department of Tourism took executives from the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) on a tour of Balesin Island Club in Quezon province on Thursday.
According to a report by GMA News’ Tina Panganiban-Perez, the DOT chose to take the UNWTO officials to the posh resort because of its sustainable tourism. It has its own reservoir which can supply the place with water for six to eight months, as well as its own seafood farms and fruit plantation.
Balesin is a popular site for celebrity vacations and weddings, including the nuptials of Kapuso actress Heart Evangelista and Sen. Chiz Escudero in 2015.
